Financial Analyst/Accountant I

Summary of This Role

Performs a variety of financial activities, including financial analysis for both revenue and expenses, KPI analysis, and review of system processes.  Responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing financial information, plans, and projections. Performs analysis of financial studies and prepares summary reports for management. 

What Part Will You Play?

• Performs basic tasks to support more experienced peers with financial projects, such as budget planning/analysis, financial plans, revenue forecasting, and statistical reporting. Resolves basic issues pertaining to financials within established guidelines as directed. Assists more experienced peers with the preparation of ad-hoc studies, reports and analysis.
• Assists with preparation of monthly reports as well as variance analysis. Assists with the development of monthly, quarterly and year end reporting as required.
• Analyzes actual and forecast variances to understand and communicate drivers to business and leadership.
• Updates and creates Tableau reports as well as Excel/Google Sheet reports as needed.
• Works with weekly KPI results to analyze trends as well as outlook for the month.
• Provide timely, actionable reporting to business owners and leadership on a monthly and adhoc basis.
• Participate in month end close process with accounting and billing to review general ledger detail and billing files for actuals, reconcile variances to both budget/forecast and prior months.
• Analyze trends, risk & opportunities, and variances to help business leaders make financial decisions.
• Assists in the preparation for internal/external audits.
• Assists with system processes, audit, and other ad-hoc requests
• Develops, interprets and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control.
• Begins to develop knowledge and company specific financial acumen by leveraging the experience of more senior peers and researching internal policies/procedures, methodologies, standards, external publications/regulations and attending internal/external training.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting or Data Analytics
• 2-3 years related professional experience

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?

• Strong understanding of FP&A and P&L statement
• Strong ability to interrogate data with use of tools like Tableau, SQL, etc.
• Systems knowledge (Excel, Google sheets, Oracle, EPBCS, Smartview, Tableau)
• Display aptitude for learning and collaboration to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Commitment to quality and attention to detail
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
• Execute tasks effectively and manage competing priorities
• Exhibit strong communication skills with senior management and executives
