Hiring Range: $110,000 - $130,000 Annually, based on qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Philanthropy (Northern Colorado) reports directly to the Vice President of Development (VPD) and is responsible for leading and expanding the Mission’s fundraising efforts across Northern Colorado to support ongoing operations, new programs, and future growth initiatives.
This role serves as the senior development leader for Northern Colorado, overseeing a growing regional portfolio that currently includes Fort Collins Rescue Mission, Harvest Farm, and prevention programming in partnership with Poudre School District, with the expectation of continued expansion into additional cities, programs, and services across Northern Colorado. The Senior Director provides strategic and operational leadership to the Northern Colorado Relational Giving Team (RGT), with a strong focus on building market presence, expanding the donor base, and increasing revenue through new and existing funding streams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Philanthropy Team Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Northern Colorado Relational Giving Team, ensuring alignment, accountability, and strong team performance
- Direct management of the RGT in Northern Colorado, including mentoring, coaching, goal setting, and performance evaluations, with the Director of Philanthropy serving as a direct report and other team members reporting through that role
- Establish and execute annual fundraising strategies across major gifts, mid-level giving, monthly sustainers, corporate giving, and church partnerships, with a focus on expanding the donor base and increasing market presence
- Ensure effective communication and a positive and courageous group spirit with and among the RGT
- Track and analyze team performance and take action for improvement as needed
- Lead long-range planning efforts to support continued regional growth and expansion
Portfolio & Revenue Growth
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 50–75 major donors within Northern Colorado, with a strong emphasis on identifying, cultivating, and acquiring new donors
- Develop and execute strategies to expand the donor base, increase donor engagement, and grow revenue across the region
- Ensure achievement of annual revenue and expense targets across all areas of responsibility
- Prepare and manage budgets aligned with regional growth and organizational priorities
Regional Strategy & Partnerships
- Serve as the primary development leader for Northern Colorado, driving market expansion and fundraising strategy across multiple sites and programs
- Build and strengthen community partnerships to increase visibility, engagement, and revenue opportunities
- Collaborate closely with program and operations leadership in Northern Colorado to align fundraising efforts with programmatic growth and community needs
- Partner with the VP of Programs (Northern Colorado) to identify and develop new initiatives that lead to increased donor and grant revenue
- Effectively collaborate with fellow department leads and site leadership to implement middle and major gift strategies, events, messaging, and donor communications
Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Develop and implement strategies to improve team execution, productivity, and effectiveness in a growing market
- Coordinate and facilitate activities between the RGT and Mission colleagues across departments
- Ensure compliance with Mission policies and practices
- Ensure timely planning and effective execution of campaigns, donor communications, and regional initiatives
- Integrate legacy giving strategies for Northern Colorado donors in coordination with the Legacy Giving Officer based in Denver
