(Senior) Payment Developer (m/f/d) - Checkout

Company Description

We are looking for a skilled (Senior) Payment Developer (m/f/d) to join our Checkout Team onsite in Hamburg or remotely within the EU.

The Checkout team is responsible for the complete order lifecycle, from customers first placing items into their baskets to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later. Between these two points, the team interacts with a multitude of internal and external players, spanning from an in-house CRM team to the external marketplace and multiple payment providers in a variety of countries. The applications the Checkout team maintains span from high traffic & fault tolerance API hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines.

Since we offer through SCAYLE our in-house developed eCommerce infrastructure for online retailers, as a licensed product,  a big part of our responsibility is to work on Checkout as a Service.

Our main tasks are to build next-level e-commerce checkout, but also to focus on improving conversation & user flow for our own website.

What you will do

• Lead and help developers improve the team collaboration among each other within your team and across different teams
• Help envisioning and working hand-in-hand with other peers to develop a scalable software architecture of our API written in PHP
• Embrace modern agile software working methodologies such as extreme programming and practices such as TDD and Pair-Programming
• Extensive tech stack: use the right tools for the right jobs
• Lots of space for your ideas and creations, flat hierarchies, and very short decision-making processes

Who you are

• Minimum of 6 years experience with PHP
• Practical & recent experience with Laravel or Symfony
• Practical experience developing APIs
• Experience with working with MySQL, Redis, or equivalent data storage.
• Strong experience with git
• Self-motivated and responsible working and passionate and eager to learn
• You know what is servant-leadership or leader-leader model and act as a mentor for your peers

• Experience working with high volumes of data & load intensive environments
• Experience working in highly integrated environments
• Extensive experience building & consuming REST API’s
• Experience integrating PSPs
• Experience designing and reviewing complex integrations
