Your Role at Batesville: 

As an Occupational Health Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to advocate for and sustain the health, safety, and overall welfare of associates within the workplace. You will play a key role in preventing work-related injuries and illnesses, providing healthcare services, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

What You’ll Do: 

• Identify potential health risks in the workplace, such as exposure to chemicals, ergonomic issues, and physical dangers.
• Conduct routine health checks and screenings to track associate’s health and detect job-related health concerns.
• Offer initial aid and emergency care for injured or unwell associates, including assessment, wound care, and referring them to suitable healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with management, HR, and safety personnel to investigate and assess workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses, and development strategies to prevent future incidents.
• Deliver health education and training programs to associates on topics like injury prevention, stress management, and ergonomics to foster a culture of safety.
• Administer vaccinations and screenings to ensure compliance with occupational health standards and regulations.
• Utilize and maintain updated, accurate, complete, and confidential record keeping system (e.g. associate medical files/records) according to regulatory requirements (FMLA/ADA/OSHA) and company policies and procedures.
• Offer counseling and support to associates dealing with work-related health conditions, disabilities, or injuries to facilitate their return to work.
• Coordinate drug testing management between associates, HR and any third-party vendors used for services.
• Stay current with occupational health guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice and recommendations to management and associates.
• Other duties may be assigned 

What You’ll Bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field. 
• Current and valid nursing license.
• Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in occupational health nursing or related field is preferred. 
• Strong ethical conduct and commitment to patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and best practices.
• Excellent assessment and diagnostic skills to identify and address occupational health risks and issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with associates at all levels and promote a culture of safety.
• Ability to develop and deliver health education and training programs to a diverse workforce.
• Proficient in conducting health screenings, immunizations and administering first aid.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
