The Protected Communication Systems (PCS) team is a hiring a Principal Systems Engineer to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. PCS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts – our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be a leader within an Integrated Program Team (IPT) developing architecture, refining requirements, guiding system development and integration, supporting test development, and working closely with our customers and suppliers to ensure we deliver world class solutions.

What You Will Do
    • Act as a CAMEO and architecture subject matter expert
    • Manage moderately sized projects and processes
    • Manage the entrance and exit criteria of Design Reviews, Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
    • Manage numerous and undefined problems and issues requiring detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to understand the problem
    • Oversee the development of full lifecycle architecture from CONOPS to Validation while leading customer discussions and reporting to project leadership
    • Oversee and supporting the Integration of Solutions within their target environment
    • Oversee lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing

Qualifications You Must Have
    • Knowledge of the full Systems Engineering V – from CONOPS development to Sustainment
    • Ability to lead an agile multidisciplinary team of design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software, test, logistics and other system engineers
    • Strong integration and test knowledge including digital twins, test procedures, test automation, test execution, and/or test reporting
    • Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System
    • Knowledge of architecture including how to build, read, review, and align with the program’s selected methodology
    • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
    • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
    • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer
    • Experience with Nuclear Command & Control (NC3) programs for STRATCOM, E-4B, E-6B, and/or other Strategic initiatives
    • Experience with integrating communication Radio and Systems: SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, AEHF, or V/UHF
    • Product Owner and Scrum Master experience on a 20+ person agile team
    • Experience with computer networking including API development and systems security
    • Proficiency in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.)
    • Experience with and knowledge of scripting for analysis or build and test automation
    • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
