Position Summary
This position is tasked with supporting site logistics and material handling, receiving shipments, management and control of tools, assemblies, and materials on an assigned job site. This position will focus on ensuring all materials and tools are placed at the point of use. This person needs to be able to operate as a point of contact on logistic matters specific to the assigned project and assigned responsibilities. This person will have specific duties as assigned by Site Logistics Leadership. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to supervise a team of specialists and material handlers, up to 3 people
- Move materials from laydown yard and other storage locations and deliver to installation areas.
- Enters tool requests through tool inventory system.
- Receives materials, tools and other goods delivered to site.
- Inspects equipment and notifies supervisor or appropriate leadership when maintenance and/or repairs are needed.
- Helps in securing, relocating, and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment to appropriate storage areas.
- Maintains a current inventory of all equipment in the storage yard.
- Coordinates tool repair with vendors.
- Keeps materials and tools clean and organized in an orderly fashion.
- Ensures a clean site is enforced by collaborating with site leadership while communicating and implementing 5S best practices.
- May operate less complicated hand tools and equipment.
- Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
Qualifications
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, worksite directions, and written instructions.
- Analyze tool and material requests for preparation of delivery to site operations.
- Operate company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills.
- Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in CEC’s Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
- Forklift Certification
Education and Experience
- Current Valid Driver’s License and must have own reliable transportation.
- High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
- Requires at least two years’ experience in a previous delivery or warehouse position.

This position also requires work at extreme heights, in areas that are under construction, or in restricted areas such as a switchgear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl space, or attic, in confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; works on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.
