Contractor (LATAM) for Senior-Level Software Engineering Services

Newsela is seeking to hire a Contractor based out of Latin America for Senior-Level Software Engineering Services. 

 Scope of Services: 

• As a Contractor, you will help the team deliver high-quality work on time. 
• You will be a key contributor within a software development team and will craft great software and automated tests to assure the design and quality of your code. 
• You will also own the delivery of features, independently, and will provide thoughtful input that helps with scoping and design for your team. 
• Reporting to the Co-Founder of Formative, you will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Product Design to refine ambiguous work items into clearly defined, valuable work items. 
• You will leverage your intermediate experience in Javascript, Typescript, React, Node, GraphQL, Apollo Client, MongoDB, and Kubernetes. 
• Additionally, you will focus on accessibility software development using Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Accessibility Testing, Storybook, and Accessible Atomic Design Systems. 
• On top of your technical skills, you are excited to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports continued improvement through code reviews and feedback.

Skills / Experience: 

• You have 3+ years of full stack experience in software development and have demonstrated success working in a software as a service (SaaS) environment. 
• You can leverage your intermediate experience in Javascript, Typescript, React, Node, GraphQL, Apollo Client, MongoDB, and Kubernetes. 
• Additionally, you have a firm understanding of accessibility including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Accessibility Testing, Storybook, and Accessible Atomic Design Systems. 
• On top of your technical skills, you are excited to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports continued improvement through code reviews and feedback.
