Peer Mentoring Senior Officer

Overview:

• Part-time Continuing position (0.8 FTE)

• Salary HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

• Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About The Position

In this role, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for implementing academic peer mentoring programs across all RMIT locations, both locally and internationally. You will work closely with the Senior Coordinator, Library Concierge, and Peer Mentoring to support daily operations and continuously enhance initiatives for RMIT learners through digital platforms. Peer Mentoring is a crucial service offered by the Library and works in tandem with Study Support services to provide a unified service for all RMIT students.

The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders to support the integration of mentoring and student engagement initiatives, in accordance with the University’s strategic goals.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating student support services and communications, with a strong focus on student engagement and experience.

• Proven ability to deliver high-quality customer service by understanding and addressing stakeholder needs.

• Experience in working and communicating and collaborating effectively with a range of stakeholders.

• Highly developed organizational, interpersonal communication skills.

• Proven ability to work independently, use initiative, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a demanding environment, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions.

• Proven ability to adapt to changing software, digital technology, and service delivery requirements.

At RMIT Melbourne, the University Library operates from 4 locations: the Swanston Library; the Bundoora Library; the Carlton Library and the Brunswick Library and manages a Makerspace on the city campus.  At RMIT Vietnam, the Library supports over 9,000 students from 2 locations: Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.  All libraries are networked for wireless.  They provide flexible spaces for individual and group study, computer equipped group study rooms and seminar rooms for academic and library research skills training.
