Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Software Engineer II, Cloud Back-End in Aliso Viejo, CA to develop software applications as part of the Cloud Gaming Engineering and Infrastructure team. Requires a Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent, and one (1) year of experience designing and developing server-side applications for cloud automation on a distributed infrastructure. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience designing, developing and implementing features in distributed backend software applications and systems; developing and delivering software features for datacenter allocation to support functional concurrent user applications; developing, packaging and distributing changes to applications and services, including new software updates, streaming enhancements, and new user experience updates, in existing and new cloud environments; writing and executing software unit tests via testing frameworks and creating software documentation to facilitate future software maintenance; performing integration with managed service solutions, secret storage systems, and continuous deployment systems, including AWS S3, SQS, SNS, DocumentDB, Kafka, Hazelcast, Jenkins, and MongoDB; working with distributed systems concepts, including caching, leadership election, service discovery, distributed locking, batch processing, and open telemetry; and in executing duties, utilizing CNCF technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, dependency artifactories, Java, Python, SQL and NoSQL data stores, and software version control tools including git and continuous deployment systems, including ArgoCD. At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
