The Director of Early Childhood Education Operations is a key stakeholder responsible for the oversight and management of the Childcare Education Institute (CCEI) division, which includes early childhood education course development and design, educational coaching, compliance and accreditation, and student support. This leader supports and operationalizes the mission, vision, and values of CCEI, and its parent company StraighterLine. Specifically, core duties for this role include (1) overseeing CCEI academic policies and procedures, (2) managing student success systems and outcomes, (3) leading and auditing day-to-day operational systems and processes implementing improvements where needed, (4) overseeing training of educational coaches and student advising and assessing, (5) maintaining compliance in the eyes of accreditation entities including DEAC, NCCRS and IACET, (6) partnering with internal and external stakeholders to drive CCEI initiatives, (7) serving as the the lead learning scientist in ECE online pedagogies, trends, outlooks and market spaces,  and (8) managing the strategic growth and improvement of the ECE portfolio of programs and CEUs in alignment with the goals of CCEI.
Ideal candidate will live within 90 mins of Arlington, VA for infrequent collaboration in-office (once a month) and in one of the following states (VA, MD, PA, DC).

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the ECE/ CCEI department, which is made up of individuals specializing in curriculum, course and UX design, professional development, support services, and other focus areas withinECE  education; hire and train additional staff as necessary.
• Play a key role in the execution of the Academic department's strategic plan, including the collection of KPIs to measure the progress of strategic goals and initiatives.
• Manage the ECE/CCEI budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently
• Oversee the development of our ECE / CCEI curricula, courses and programming.
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the CCEI vertical and the departments that fall under it: student support, academics, coaching, and compliance.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and growth and creates strategic plans and goals for maximizing both.  
• Supervise CCEI staff from student support, academics, and compliance; evaluate staff performance on an annual basis (and otherwise as required).
• In tandem with other CCEI stakeholders, serve as a pedagogical advisor and expert, project managing and coordinating course/program production projects and initiatives, to contribute to CCEI’s portfolio expansion and/or improvement efforts. 
• Analyze financial information and plan operational budgets to promote profitability. 
• Maintain pedagogical expertise in teaching/learning as it applies to ECE and professional development; maintains pedagogical expertise in adult theories of learning and online learning. 
• Represent CCEI at conferences and workshops, to build brand recognition and awareness; establish and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships with exterior organizations/entities.
• Regularly reviews and evaluates data related to CCEI division; Ensure that all data, reports, and other metrics are produced with the highest standards for clarity, accuracy, methodology, and sharing. 
• In tandem with the growth team, collaborate on acquisition and management of articulation partnerships with institutions of online, professional development, and higher learning.
• Create and implement a learning model for ECE courses/programs; evaluate and assess courses/programs according to a quality rubric. 
• Operationalize the training and assessment of coaches, implementing and updating a norming/calibration program for grading consistency and accuracy. 
• Management of CCEI’s accreditation approval status and administration of all accreditation standards across all CCEI departments
