Senior Software Engineer - Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer

About the job

The Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us as a remote developer. In this role, you will develop new features for the Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer product, and oversee their integration with other technology across the Red Hat portfolio. You’ll also fix bugs and submit them to the community members, review your peers’ code, and mentor more junior engineers. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the Sigstore upstream open source projects and integrate them in the downstream RHTAS product.

What you will do

• Work with the RHTAP team to ensure regular and smooth CI/CD of our 20+ components
• Work with the QE team to ensure proper testing, including quality unit tests
• Contribute new features, bug fixes and other code both upstream and downstream
• Perform code review for your peer’s features and bug fixes both upstream and downstream
• Provide cross-product and internal integrations of RHTAS with other Red Hat engineering efforts
• Community and product evangelism through blog posts, demos, and conference presentations

What you will bring

• Practical development experience in Go. Other languages are a plus.
• Proven and demonstrable experience designing, writing, testing and delivering enterprise level software products
• Experience working in open source communities
• Solid understanding of cloud computing and Kubernetes

The following are considered a plus:

• Familiarity with cryptography, including digital signatures, signing keys, certificates and key management
• Familiarity with the Sigstore upstream project
