IaaS division focuses on building large-scale and highly available cloud infrastructure, which supports both public cloud products (like VolcEngine ECS service) and ByteDance internal products. IaaS-US team focuses on the development and research of ByteDance Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough analysis of network products and identify areas to improve networking performance, scalability and reliability
• Research and build networking infrastructure for AI/LLM workloads to improve the performance in LLM training or inference
• Collaborate with other Bytedance teams or open-source communities to develop networking products or services with SOTA techniques

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- MS or above degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Proficiency with at least one modern programming language such as Golang, C/C++, Python, Rust
- 5 years of experience in networking product design and development
- Familiar with Ethernet/IP/TCP protocol, networking virtualization and cloud
networking
- Working experience in at least one of the following areas:
a) Networking hardware acceleration with DPU/IPU/ASIC/FPGA and P4
programming
b) RDMA protocol or congestion control algorithms
xCCL communication library, GPU/AI acceleration communication
c) Rust application gateway/proxy

Preferred knowledges
Familiar with virtualization techniques (Qemu, KVM)
LLM inference or training infrastructure, framework, engine, etc.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $194000 - $410000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
