About the role

Position Overview

The Novelis Atlanta team is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our Corporate Compensation team. The person in this role will report to the Compensation Lead. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Global Compensation team to support the development, implementation, and administration of our compensation programs. The candidate will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, market research, and compensation administration.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and organize confidential compensation documents to upload to records retention database.
  • Assists with centralizing historic job evaluations and supporting documents.
  • Support data analysis and audit including job codes, functions, sub functions, and market matches.
  • Build job description repository for job descriptions that is organized and easily searchable.
  • Support activities around process automation and optimization projects, such as requirements gathering, testing, and assembling training materials.
  • Assist in the preparation of compensation reports and presentations.
  • Support the Pay Transparency project and learn the Novelis compensation philosophy and practices.
  • Provide support to the Compensation team on ad-hoc projects and analysis, as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate classification of Junior or Senior (3rd or 4th year) as of May 2024, is desired.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Analytical with attention to detail.
  • Problem solving and communication.
  • Capable of treating confidential information as confidential and with integrity and respect.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or work experience in Compensation or Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of basic compensation principles and practices.
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The internship program will begin in late May 2024 and last less than 90 calendar days, which encompasses 40 hours/weeks and may vary depending on the school schedule and business needs.

 

Physical presence is required at the job location in Atlanta, GA to train and perform in a collaborative, learning environment.  Housing and relocation support will be provided for interns/co-ops if the school they attend, or their permanent home is beyond a commutable distance.
