Eurofins Agroscience Services (EAS) is seeking a Field Research Agronomist to join our team in Lafayette, IN. This role involves a dynamic blend of laboratory work and field research, primarily focusing on ecotoxicology and environmental safety within the field of AgroSciences. As an integral part of the team, the field research agronomist will assist in conducting a variety of studies including residue, yield, efficacy, and pollinator trials. Most of the trials will be conducted under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who is seeking to further develop their agricultural research skills in a fast paced, field-oriented environment.

Job Description

Field Scientist I responsibilities include:

  • Participate and monitor studies placed within organization
  • Maintain study data and facility records in organized manner
  • Properly handle and apply pesticides
  • Grow and maintain various types of crops
  • Assure accurate and complete collection of study data and report timely to Sponsors
  • Use of sponsor e-notebooks and other data collection hardware/software
  • Participating in periodic GLP training
  • Use of study management database, as required
  • Supervision of temporary field/lab staff, as assigned
  • Some domestic travel will be required

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Experience in working with row crops.
  • Experience in Pollination Studies
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in an appropriate field (e.g. biology, environmental science, analytical chemistry, chemistry, or biochemistry).
  • Knowledge of growing cycles of corn, soybeans, and wheat.
  • Familiarity with farming operations.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift and walk for hours in the field
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work extended hours during time critical periods
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lafayette, IN are encouraged to apply.
