Job Description

Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) ensures Visa’s Products and Services are engineered and operating at a level that exceeds all the availability and reliability targets. PRE is accountable for the reliability of all Visa’s Products including the underlying Applications, Technologies, and Processes. As the world’s leader in digital payments, we hold ourselves to the highest standards for Reliability and Availability. Our programs like IT Disaster Recovery and Change Management are regarded as the highest level in the industry and well regarded by Regulators across the World. The full lifecycle Reliability Assessment is groundbreaking in nature and PRE is committed to raising the bar with innovation and setting the highest of standards. 

This role reporting into the PRE leader will work across various Visa teams, such as Product Development, Technical Research, and the Technology functions, extended to external Regulators.  Your team will work in partnership on Reliability Programs and Governance and jointly responsible for evolving Visa’s existing Reliability Programs and Governance Framework and driving its implementation using best-in-class approaches that harness appropriate technologies, methodologies, and emerging standards to bring immediate impact to the organization. By keeping a flexible and innovative approach, your team will find ways to achieve efficiencies that enable the business rather than disrupting day-to-day operations in pursuit of abstract Reliability Governance goals.  

We are seeking an individual that will be a trusted business partner leveraging deep expertise to consult executive management for key decision making and will drive the engagement of senior management and key governance forums.  Where constructive challenge to functions is needed, the Reliability Programs and Governance Leader will make recommendations to Senior Management on controls or other actions required to mature and uplift operations.  

The candidate is to be viewed by the organization as a knowledgeable, capable, and competent agent for change.  

Essential Functions

As Sr. Director, Reliability Programs & Governance, you will:  

• Lead a small-mid sized team of employees located across the globe. 

• Set the strategic vision and execute on reliability centered programs. 

• In this role, you will work cross-functionally with teams across multiple business units including Technology, Corporate Risk and Product to ensure reliability standards are adhered to. 

• Influence and evolve organizational governance by defining engagement models, centralizing audit oversight and response and defining KPIs that align to organizational goals and objectives. 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 9 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 15+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Demonstrated experience in leading technology data governance and technology lifecycle management practices
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant financial industry regulation and experience working with regulators
• Experience with Governance and proven ability to build new best-in-class capabilities using relevant technology and robust architectures to drive organizational impact an
