Barista

This position demonstrates a passion for coffee and customer service as they help guests make their purchases. Establishes a positive customer service relationship with all guests, internal and external, to help guarantee customer satisfaction which will contribute to the financial success of the Museum. This position is compensated fairly and we do not accept tips.

Essential Duties

• Provides consistent quality beverages following established recipes, or by suggestion of the guest.
• Ensures that food safety and security standards are met and adhered to consistently.
• Assists in all areas, such as clean-up, shelf-stocking, or keeping merchandise displayed in an orderly manner.
• Handles money and can count back change. Receives payment by cash, credit cards, or automatic debits.
• Works in collaboration with other departments in establishing Museum priorities and shared goals.
• Takes responsibility to learn all aspects of the Barista position, including opening and closing of the Coffee Lab.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
• 6 months experience in a fast-paced restaurant or retail environment required.
• Ability to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays required.
• Ability to pass all required certifications.
