How you’ll contribute
A IT&S Director who excels in this role:
Serve as the primary liaison between hospital leadership and enterprise IT, ensuring local needs are represented in system-wide planning and that enterprise strategies are effectively implemented at the facility level.
Participate in enterprise governance councils and contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance, cybersecurity, and technology standards.
Lead the hospital's IT strategic planning process, aligning technology initiatives with both hospital and enterprise goals.
Operational Excellence & Service Delivery
Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and support services, ensuring high availability and performance of clinical and business systems.
Implement and monitor IT service management processes, incident response, and change management in accordance with enterprise policies.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and participate in audits, inspections, and accreditation processes.
Project & Change Management
Lead or support enterprise IT initiatives at the hospital, including but not limited to EHR upgrades, cybersecurity initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and initiatives to reduce technical debt within the hospital's data center; perform other duties as assigned.
Champion change management, staff training, and adoption of new technologies, leveraging enterprise resources and best practices.
Collaboration & Relationship Building
Foster strong relationships with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and enterprise IT peers to ensure technology solutions meet operational and clinical needs.
Engage with external vendors and partners as needed, following enterprise procurement and vendor management guidelines.
Financial Stewardship
Collaborate with hospital financial leaders to support cost containment strategies and ensure technology initiatives align with organizational priorities.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings, and revenue generation through technology.
Talent Management & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the hospital IT team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
Support enterprise talent initiatives, including workforce planning, succession management, and staff engagement.
Performance Improvement & Innovation
Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery, leveraging data analytics, benchmarking, and enterprise performance metrics.
Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies that advance patient care, operational efficiency, and data security.
