  • Actively engage with FIS’ U.S.-based trade associations, representing company interests and helping drive industry alignment on issues affecting the company.
  • Collaborate with business teams and various functions across the company (e.g., Regulatory Legal, Compliance, etc.) to generate comment letters and responses to regulatory and other policymaking consultations.
  • Evaluate the impacts of policies with input from business units and assist with developing and implementing strategies to protect and promote company interests.
  • Prepare briefing documents, talking points, and background materials for advocacy engagements.
  • Design and implement advocacy strategies for achieving policy goals with relevant federal and state legislative, administrative, regulatory, and other governmental entities.
  • Support the administration of the company’s federal political action committee, including developing candidate contribution recommendations, annual fundraising solicitations, and compliance-related activities.
  • Participate in FIS’ visible presence in Washington, DC, including attending public events, social functions, and political events, and cultivating relationships with key officials, agencies, and thought leaders.
  • Identify deliverables, track results, and report progress to management across a wide range of policy issues. Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives across the global policy team.
  • Manage a team of U.S. policy specialists to advance FIS’ policy objectives by creating guidelines, setting goals and monitoring team performance.

What you will need:

The ideal candidate must be entrepreneurial, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse workload. The candidate must have experience providing both tactical and strategic advice to both external stakeholders and internal executive level business professionals. The candidate will serve as an engaging networker and public speaker and be passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for the financial services industry.
