Job Description

The Counsel of Business & Legal Affairs position is an attorney position and will be responsible for supporting the VP – Business & Legal Affairs of Telemundo Network and other attorneys in the department.

• Under supervision of a senior attorney, draft, review, negotiate, and interpret an extensive range of agreements, including, but not limited to, vendor, distribution, rights acquisition, production, lease, operations, sponsorship, master-use, and license agreements.

• Under supervision of a senior attorney, conduct rights analyses of various agreements for discussion and analysis within the department and with key business stakeholders. Create deal summaries, maintain and administer day-to-day contractual and operational matters including preparation letters and memoranda to internal and external clients and presentations to senior-level management, etc.
• Provide general advice and support to the business.
• Updating form contracts to reflect current practices and policies.
• Generally support the other attorneys in the department.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• JD degree and US bar membership.
• 5 years’ experience as a lawyer in a law firm specializing in entertainment law or a business/legal affairs position at a television network or media company strongly preferred.
• Superior communication, interpersonal, drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills. Fully bilingual and able to conduct business and analyze legal matters in Spanish and English.
• Proficient in Outlook including Calendar, Contacts.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
