About the role

This position will be responsible for the preparation of loan documents for all retail loans, including preliminary and final disclosures for Home Equity loans and lines. This position is the primary contact with Retail Underwriting Department & lenders. This position is responsible for the preparation of Adverse Action Notices. This position ensures that documents are accurate, complete and comply with Regulation Z, RESPA, Regulation O, Regulation B, and the CFPB regulations.

Primary Duties:

  • Utilize LaserPro, nCino, Signature UI, Nautilus, and Microsoft Word to prepare documentation for all consumer purpose loans, including loan extensions and modifications, according to policy guidelines.
  • Review Home Equity applications and all other retail loan requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Back up as required for preliminary disclosure process.
  • Monitor work queue to ensure documents are completed according to established Service Level Agreements.
  • Produce required flood documentation upon result of flood determination.
  • Perform a final review of documentation to ensure all loan documents are prepared accurately and according to documentation requirements consistent with the type of loan, state of origination and regulatory guidelines.
  • Make required corrections and changes to documents as requested.
  • Forward completed loan package to lender for execution/signature by customer.
  • Utilize LaserPro, CBC Innovis, and nCino to generate adverse action notices, as required by regulations.
  • Assist with training new employees.
  • Partake in all other related duties as assigned in support of the daily functions of the Retail Loan Documentation, Retail, and Loan Operations departments.
  • Participate in internal and external training to maintain knowledge of Bell Bank products, systems, and services, as well as any required Bell Bank compliance training.
  • Adhere to all Bell Bank standards, policies and procedures as well as banking laws and regulations.
  • Utilize problem solving skills, external and internal resources to resolve issues as efficiently as possible.
  • Escalate complex problems to Team Lead, Team Supervisor, and/or Team Manager.
  • Assist with special projects designated by the Team Lead, Team Supervisor, and/or Team Manager.
  • Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.

  • Know, understand, and live the company values and bottom line.
  • Conduct activities consistent with established Bell Bank policies, procedures and systems, the Bell Bank Employee Conduct policies, the Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Required:

  • Detail oriented with good working knowledge of rules, regulations and policies relating to loan documentation acquired through 6 to 12 months of experience in loan documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Possess good communication skills to interact with the lenders and loan assistants.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and effective problem resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to work productively and efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and multi-task in a high-volume workflow with multiple priorities, interruptions and possible short-term deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible in a dynamic and challenging environment characterized by sometimes changing priorities and react to those changes productively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
