The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) team capitalizes on Amazon’s scale, speed, and ability to invent and simplify to create a better and more resilient company. The ESG Reporting team is looking for an experienced, multi-disciplinary, and collaborative leader to enhance our ESG Insights and Analysis program.
In this role you will be responsible for working cross functionally to deeply understand the drivers of ESG performance against key goals.
You will also develop and maintain a mechanism for reporting and explaining progress against key goals at consolidated, business unit, and regional levels.
You'll have the opportunity to enhance and develop processes for goal setting in partnership with subject matter experts.
Lastly, you will work closely with finance to develop models that capture the intersection of ESG metrics and financial performance.
The ideal candidate must show good judgment, and continually improve their knowledge of the ESG reporting landscape, Amazon’s business model, and the drivers of Amazon's ESG performance.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead ESG materiality assessments.
• Build and own the metric consolidation process, and year over year variance analysis for mandatory ESG disclosures.
• Work with subject matter experts to document the causes of significant variances from plan for internal management reporting.
• Own the ESG performance narrative in support of voluntary and future statutory ESG reporting.
• Design and roll out a standardized, global process for ESG goal setting and approval.
• Provide requirements to sustainability technology team to help automate mandatory ESG reporting processes.

• 15 + years of experience working in ESG reporting, accounting, or finance.
• Experience with ESG regulatory environment and corresponding data requirements (Proposed SEC Rule on Climate-Related Disclosures, CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, ISSB).
• Experience with ESG reporting criteria such as the GHG protocol, and also the underlying assumptions that support common ESG targets such as net zero, 100% renewable energy etc.
• Experience with building and owning an external or internal reporting process (ESG or Financial).
• Experience with performing financial or ESG modeling and analysis and presenting conclusions to executive leadership.
• Experience developing long range plans (financial or ESG) and working with subject matter experts to execute against those plans.
• Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA).
• Experience with external reporting solutions such as Workiva.

Basic Qualifications
• 15 + years of experience working in ESG reporting, accounting, or finance.
