JOB SUMMARY:

SMBC MANUBANK is seeking a Vice President, Finance Lead for the Commercial Bank to oversee and coordinate the financial forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analytics of the Commercial Bank, which includes several business verticals within its umbrella. This individual will be at the nexus of the financial organization and the Commercial Bank and will be relied upon to build top tier financial processes and procedures and take lead on projects that will transform the efficiency and profitability of the organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial budgeting, forecasting and modeling: Lead the monthly re-forecasting and annual budgeting process for the Commercial Bank. Advanced ability to develop and enhance loan and deposit forecast models and related financial analytics is a must.
• Reporting and analysis: Develop in-depth understanding of financials and leverage financial modeling, data analytics, and accounting expertise to accurately guide stakeholders on the Bank’s financial picture.
• Strategic planning: Work closely with the Commercial Bank leaders to understand the future of their products, services, and the businesses they serve. Work hand in hand with the Head of FP&A and CFO to combine the Commercial Bank financials with other business units under SMBC MANUBANK to understand and direct the consolidated bank financial strategy.
• Business partnerships: Strong relationship-building acumen to liaise with the senior leadership of the Commercial Bank and the business partners at SMBC Americas.
• Leadership excellence: Proven ability to rally colleagues, mentor teams, and drive results.
• Communication: Effectively communicate financial performance, trends, and risks and opportunities to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Change management: Implement, and maintain momentum for, technological and process transformation initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field 
• Minimum of 7+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis within the financial services or banking industry.
• In-depth knowledge of banking-specific financial management concepts and familiarity with the banking regulatory environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify forecasting gaps and recommend actionable solutions.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
