Responsibilities
- Provide on-the-floor leadership for a shift team of Manufacturing Associates in a current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) environment
- Oversee daily operations for off-shift activities including:
- Parts Washing
- Autoclave operations
- Drug Product Formulation
- Manual Visual Inspection (MVI)
- Automated Visual Inspection (AVI)
- Ensure the timely completion of Parts Wash, Autoclave, Formulation, and Visual Inspection activities to support filling operations
- Coordinate and execute the manufacturing schedule through daily shift assignments and team huddles
- Serve as the primary point of contact for escalations during the shift; provide clear guidance to resolve issues quickly and safely
- Foster an inclusive, people-first culture through regular communication, one-on-ones on a defined cadence, and team engagement
- Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports; create development plans and support skills growth
- Address employee questions and concerns; identify and close performance gaps, partnering with Human Resources when needed
- Maintain a safe, compliant work environment by ensuring team members have correct and up-to-date training
- Support manufacturing investigations and continuous improvement projects to elevate quality, safety, and efficiency
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners for activities requiring access to manufacturing space and equipment (for example: maintenance, calibration, and equipment use)
- Enforce company policies that directly impact employees (for example: time reporting, time-off approvals, shift work, and inclement weather protocols)
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time (for example: approving timecards and time off, expense reports)
- Participate in recruitment and retention activities to attract and retain talent, as needed
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Shift and work environment:
- Lead a shift team that supports a 24/7 operating facility
- Second shift schedule: 3:00 pm–11:30 pm
- Work primarily on the manufacturing floor within a regulated cGMP environment
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing and cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; strong computer literacy
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication
- Willingness to coach, lead, and develop a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to train others to perform and maintain cGMP regulations
- Advanced math and computer skills
- Flexibility to work in support of a 24/7 facility
Minimum qualifications (must meet one of the following):
- Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in large pharmaceutical/biotech operations or projects;
