Production Control Specialist - Graveyard Shift

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Production Control Specialist to support the IT program at a major national.  

Responsibilities

Applicant will be part of the Production Control team which provides computer operations support for the client enterprise computing applications.  Production Control manages the batch process workload for the Laboratory enterprise information system.  Production Control manages 2,000 individual processes.  Bulk of the enterprise information system production batch is processed on IBM mainframe and Oracle ERP servers.  Production Control functionally assists several levels of support involving programmers, database administrators, system administrators, functional users and laboratory general users.  The team provides three shifts on a 5x24 schedule, Monday through Friday, in addition to on-call support during weekends and holidays. This position is a graveyard shift to work the hours of 11:00 pm - 7:00 am.  This is a great opportunity for someone in school looking to work a night shift.  This is an entry level position that will provide on the job training by shadowing current team member.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of prior technical experience working in a NOC or SOC. 

  Candidate must have basic computer knowledge:

  • Windows Apps
  • Email knowledge (Outlook)
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Experience with Everbridge or some other Mass Communication System
  • Control M or similar software to run jobs
  • Run Job streams
  • Monitor overall system performance
  • Ensure jobs get completed successfully
  • Call appropriate person to escalate with issues (ex. DBA)
• 1-2 years of experience in IT support or troubleshooting experience
• Experience or the ability to learn TIER 1-1 1/2 network
• Associates degree desired 
• Work can be done remotely – prefer for candidate to be within a 2-hour radius of location.
• Will consider non-local talent willing to work Mountain Time
