About the role

Provide quality leadership to Tier 2 and below Automotive and Commercial Vehicle suppliers by serving as liaison between BorgWarner and the supplier on quality and program deliverables and expectations. Lead communications that ensure BorgWarner cross-functional team alignment with respect to Suppliers. Work with Suppliers and our internal teams to ensure complete PPAPs to ensure material meets Customer Specific (CSR), drawing and design requirements and ensure the flow of quality product into the BorgWarner facility. Facilitate change management requests from Customers, BorgWarner, and our Suppliers. Conduct business with Suppliers and Customers in a professional manner that facilitates a positive customer experience and establishes goodwill between BorgWarner, our Suppliers, and our Customers. Work closely with BorgWarner Supply Chain to achieve world-class cost, quality, and delivery from our Suppliers.
In addition, may perform varied assignments of an advanced professional nature requiring full use and application of quality engineering methods which may include planning, directing, and supervising activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality systems for ensuring processed materials and finished products meet design intent and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

Compile and submit capital appropriation requests as required to support the quality system.

Support of the supplier development system.

Evaluate and disposition PPAP submissions from Suppliers.

Facilitate and lead supplier APQP activities.

Assist in maintaining the IATF 16949 certification.

Assist in conducting audits of the quality system.

Participate in design reviews.

Maintains multiple projects simultaneously.

Perform other quality related assignments as directed by management.

Interfaces with all disciplines to ensure that quality systems are established and maintained to provide customers with quality products and ensure vendor compliance.

We are looking for:

Bachelor's Degree; five plus years of experience in Quality/Engineering related activity in an IATF 16949 compliant manufacturing environment; and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experience leading and/or supervising others is preferred.
