$25.09 - $35.12The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
This is a line supervisor role. The technician supervisor will have the knowledge and skills of at least a Certified Pharmacy Technician on the career ladder and will spend a majority of time functioning as a member of the technician team. The assistant supervisor will have responsibility for assuring adequate training and management of training materials for their area of supervision, in conjunction with the Training Specialist for their area (if applicable). The technician supervisor will establish the work schedule for the area of supervision, and will conduct evaluations of performance. Responsibilities and tasks are consistent with state, federal and local regulations; and consistent with the functions of a pharmacy technician. The technician supervisor will have direct supervisory responsibility for the technician team in the relevant area of supervision under the oversight of the Pharmacy Technician Operations Supervisor. All technician dispensing and drug preparation activities must be under the direct supervision and approval of a licensed pharmacist, and this level of supervision is not intended to change that relationship.Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY Supervises the activity of the Pharmacy Technicians. Assures adequate training and management of training materials for their area of supervision. Establishes work schedules and conducts performance evaluations. SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED: Supervises the assigned technician team with oversight by the Pharmacy Manager. MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED: Standard office equipment: Inventory management equipment and associated software, robotic dispensing, repackaging, automated storage and retrieval, IV Robotics, automated workflow management and other devices and software may be used. TYPICAL DUTIES - Coordinates adequate cross-training in at least one other functional area of the department. Coordinates with technician supervisors in other functional areas to assure training is completed and competencies maintained. - Participates in the interview and hiring decision process for Pharmacy Technicians, adhering to all University policies relevant to the interview and hiring process. - Develops proposals relative to process improvement for presentation to the relevant Pharmacy Manager. Establishes a team schedule to assure adequate cross-coverage to meet minimum staffing needs in all areas. - Demonstrate an ability to retrieve information and effectively communicate responses to requests for information that do not require a Pharmacist. Differentiate what does and does not require the involvement of a Pharmacist. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards. - Coordinates the training schedule and assignments for all new hires. Evaluates progress during the Pharmacy Technician training process. Establish competency assessments. - Troubleshoots pharmacy automation in relevant areas of pharmacy operations (Swisslog, Pyxis, Healthrobotics, etc...) problem orders and eRecord issues. Utilizes reports and other information to optimize performance of pharmacy automation. - Ensures competency in job specific medication delivery tasks (cart fill/exchange, narcotic delivery, standards delivery, set-up and filling of medication orders in relevant areas of supervision robot fill, manual picks, narcotic dispensing, daily standards batch, oral liquids, IVA batch, etc). - Prepares medication orders, determines number of doses to be sent, accurately obtains pre-made medications and acts as a liaison for pharmacist in obtaining medications from ancillary areas.
