Position Description:
As part of strategy to design and implement industry leading applications Morgan Stanley WMPT team is looking for a senior Java Full stack/Angular developer with good experience on UI/UX technologies to join a technologically advanced team. Candidate must have expertise in leading design and development of multi-tiered Java EE-style applications. Candidate should be fluent in spring, databases, and database interface layers and associated Java development tools. Candidate must also be able to contribute towards UI development using Angular/React, web protocols and standards, and associated UI development tools. Candidate should be familiar with Kafka, event driven architecture and Micro Services. Candidate should have experience in working with Cloud based infrastructure. Candidate will interface on a regular basis with other teams including other internal IT teams across Wealth Management, BA team, QA team, and global development team. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities, vendor capabilities, proprietary system builds, and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Responsible for development efforts for building Payment platform

  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to enhance our existing applications

  • Code, conduct code reviews, participate in design discussions and contribute to the architecture process

  • Adhere to application development guidelines and help improve existing guidelines

  • Following engineering practices for code development, review and documentation.

  • Create an engineering culture in DevOps, SRE, Chaos, Automation and other application development and maintenance areas.

  • Maintain effective relationships with business owners and application development teams in global locations

  • Analyze user specifications and provide assistance in testing and debugging applications

  • The candidate will interact with a diverse & global set of teams, including developers, business analysts, quality assurance, infrastructure, user communities, and senior management

  • Work within an Agile team, participating in ceremonies related to the Agile framework Skills Required:

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Minimum BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

  • 7+ years of hands on expertise in building enterprise level applications using Core Java (Java 8+)

  • 5+ years of practical experience in Java EE design and programming, solid understanding of multi-tiered web-based applications

  • Hands on Experience with Spring, SpringBoot and design patterns

  • Practical Experience with event driven architecture using Kafka

  • Practical Experience with Micro Service Architecture and Containerization

  • Prior experience of working large scale projects and building enterprise applications using Agile Methodologies

  • Strong understanding of RDBMS databases, JDBC, and database access technologies (DB2 preferred but not required)

  • Ability to analyze business requirements, propose solutions, and implement those solutions

  • Ability to learn new concepts and technologies, and implement them to sol
