Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
We are seeking a HSSE Communications and Training Advisor to join our team at our Houston Office.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management (Multiple & Simultaneous): Manage and oversee multiple health and safety-related content and training projects across construction projects and ongoing operational activities concurrently, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Health & Safety Campaign Development & Implementation: Develop, design, and implement comprehensive health and safety campaigns to promote a strong safety culture and address specific workplace hazards. This includes outlining campaign objectives, target audiences, key messages, and implementation strategies.
- Graphic Design & Content Creation: Utilize graphic design skills to create visually engaging and impactful safety communication materials, including posters, flyers, infographics, presentations, and digital content.
- Site HSSE Signage: Develop and establish clear guidelines and signage templates for consistent HSSE signage across all assets.
- Safety Training Content Development (LNG Export Facility Focus): Develop engaging and effective safety training content tailored for an LNG Export facility, incorporating industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and site-specific procedures. This includes written materials, visual aids, and interactive elements.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Content Rollout: Effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders (including project teams, operations personnel, management, and safety representatives) to gather input, secure buy-in, and ensure successful review and rollout of safety campaigns and training materials.
- Computer-Based Training (CBT) Development: Design and develop interactive and engaging Computer-Based Training (CBT) modules using Articulate 360 software.
- Internal HSSE Communication Management: Manage all site-wide HSSE related communications, including the development and dissemination of routine updates, safety alerts, and lessons learned in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
- Face-to-Face (FTF) Training Development: Develop engaging and effective instructor-led, Face-to-Face (FTF) training programs on various safety topics.
- Train-the-Trainer Program Development & Delivery: Develop and conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions for the training administration team to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively deliver the developed safety training content.
- Collaboration with Training Administration: Work closely with the training administration team to ensure seamless delivery and tracking of completed safety training.
- Procurement and Logistics of Materials: Collaborate with the procurement department to source vendors, manage the printing and production of safety communication and training materials, and ensure timely and accurate delivery to the site and relevant personnel. This includes managing inventory and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
- Oil & Gas Industry Knowledge Integration: Apply a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, particularly within a safety context, to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of all developed materials and initiatives.
- Complete other business tasks as assigned.
Education:
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Communications, Graphic Design, Instructional Design, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety-related role within the oil and gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health and safety campaigns and initiatives.
- Proven experience in developing safety training content for technical audiences, preferably within an LNG or similar high-hazard environment.
- Occupational Health and Safety knowledge , experience, or education related to job site hazard recognition safety inspection/audits for permit to work, hazardous energy isolation, hot-work (metal welding-grinding-thermal cutting), confined space entry, elevated work/fall protection, housekeeping, and crane hoisting an
