Job Description
The Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes, solves problems, and develops and executes objectives for self and others,
- Fully understand the implications of “building to customer order” and be able to take appropriate action(s) to keep its integrity by adjusting manpower and work-order schedules relative to manufacturing demands.
- Develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production plans focused on company objectives including safety, high quality, productivity and outstanding customer service. Work to provide group leadership and instill an empowering culture to support these objectives
- Drive daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments with top quality at the lowest cost, implement a strategy to reduce cycle times, drive productivity, reduce in-process inventory levels, and improve quality, service and safety.
- Be a strong advocate of Lean and the Business Transformation Process.
- Drive continuous improvement and increasing productivity in assigned areas. Lead assigned groups to achieving goals in asset utilization, process /manufacturing loss improvement, delivered quality and cost reduction
- Work collaboratively with cross functional teams in supply chain, sales and technology to ensure plant initiatives align with overall business goals and programs including existing programs as well as new product launches.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans for staffing, capacity and standard costs.
- Ensure communication to management and cross functional teams regarding daily and strategic efforts effecting business deliverables.
- Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees
- Ensure employees are aware / comply with all company, government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations
- Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time
- Structure assigned organization and staff positions with personnel to accomplish business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with at least 3 years of experience in production supervision or 2 year degree from an accredited university or college with at least 5 years of experience in production supervision.
- Experience with minimarket-supermarket kanban processes.
- Experience developing/executing production plans.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and problem solving and analytical skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities, act independently, and use sound judgment.
- Lean, Six-Sigma, or Greenbelt experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing policies and regulations.
- Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems.
- Proficiency with applicable computer systems and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP, SAP Systems).
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 109,000-160,000.
