The Registered Student Organizations (RSO) Coordinator fosters growth and development within the Mines community and is designed to provide leadership and professional development training for executive councils, advisors, teams, and student leaders within organizations. The Coordinator also organizes programs and services related to the university's student development and retention efforts. Additionally, the Coordinator serves as co-advisor to the Board of Student Organizations governing body and has oversight of over 180+ organizations. This position is responsible for engaging students through advising, marketing, policy implementation and student organization support.This position provides ample opportunity work with students--from helping set up major Mines' traditions like E-days and homecoming, to supporting nearly 200 student organizations, and helping students to interpret organizational policies, there is never a dull moment in this role! The work varies from day to day, with a diverse array of stakeholders from students, to staff, to external partners. It's an exciting role for a person who likes to meet challenges head-on, likes working with unique STEM-focused students, and enjoys being in the mix of the many aspects of student organizations and activities.
This work is done primarily on on beautiful campus in Golden, Colorado. Work is mostly conducted during normal business hours, but will include occasional nights and weekends.

Specific Responsibilities include:
PROGRAMMING & ORGANIZATION SUPPORT
Provide service-learning opportunities for students involved in organizations
Provide leadership and team training to executive teams of clubs/orgs and any other interested organizations. Specifically, plan and execute the student organization leadership training, Fall Summit for student organizations and help with programming for governing bodies
Implement and manage Campus Groups platform for all student organizations including finance suite
Oversee risk management practices within organizations on campus and seek guidance from the Office of Compliance, Office of Risk Management, and Health and Safety Office
Oversight of student organizations registration, elections and renewal process from beginning to end
Support Celebration of Mines efforts and assist with campus programming efforts when necessary, including but not limited to M-Climb and Fall Kick-Off, stress-less week, Fall and Spring break programming
Support DIA efforts surrounding student organizations including inclusive programing and organizational DIA programming
Serve as lead for Canvas page and student organization websites
Manage and approve all org event requests and manage event ticketing through TransAct, University Tickets or similar platforms
Manage event funds and event contracts and other event administrative tasks
Host weekly Registered Student Organization office hours
ADVISING/SUPERVISION
Advise and support the Board of Student Organizations (BSO), a governing body responsible for funding and oversight of most student organizations on campus
Serve as point of contact and maintain positive and consistent communication with all org advisors
Manage conduct issues and meetings with students/organizations and work collaboratively with the Office of Community Standards by serving as a hearing officer for larger organizational hearings.
Maintain and facilitate advisor training(s) and the advisor manual on a semesterly basis
Enforce state, campus, and SAIL policy with student organization programming and demonstrations
Supervise the social media intern
Manage the SAIL front desk operations and supervise student workers
MARKETING
Serve as social media lead and content creation, including oversite of monthly social media campaigns in line with DI&A objectives
Write and deliver the Registered Student Organizations Monthly newsletter and create flyers, marketing materials, and email communications as needed
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support, promote, and advocate on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus
- Represent the University to various institutional divisions by serving on university committees as well as externally to students and/or the public/local community
