In this role, you will create and implement a Category Strategy for each assigned category. This is done by aligning with business objectives and utilizing the 7-step strategic sourcing process. The responsibilities include ensuring Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) for indirect services, identifying cost-saving opportunities, fostering strategic relationships with suppliers, facilitating innovation initiatives, making contracting decisions, conducting negotiations, and reducing Nestle's total cost of ownership. Additionally, Lead Procurement Category Management plays a crucial role in maintaining a strong understanding of financial acumen and aligning with multiple partners. This is demonstrated by representing it in meetings with Business Partners and Procurement Leaders, and driving improvements in identified key performance indicators (KPIs).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop comprehensive Category Strategies for each assigned category, in context of business objectives and utilizing the 7 steps to strategic sourcing process to understand and integrate category expertise, to set the direction of sourcing for the categories. Annually present strategies to Procurement and cross functional teams.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost avoidance projects and present analysis & category expertise driven insights to both functional and divisional partners. Drive execution of projects and maintain accurate records in Oscar.
- Ensure Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are in place for indirect spend within the assigned categories.
- Identify and present innovation opportunities from suppliers to partners to drive innovation and implementation.
- Conduct and Assist with RFPs and negotiations with suppliers to achieve the most favorable price, incoterm and payment terms to reduce Nestle Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), make contracting decisions accordingly.
- Collaborate with Partners to ensure high quality agency partnerships.
- Stay updated on market trends, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to the assigned categories to reduce and communicate risk and understand price changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Nestrade, Finance, Legal, and Quality Assurance, to ensure compliance and alignment with company policies and standards.
- Assist leading within the team to shape strategic direction and driving the execution of key objectives to achieve category goals
- Effective communication skills to present to Senior Leadership
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Organizational Development or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Marketing or Supply Chain fields preferred
- Experience in SAP, Power BI and other advanced data analytics tools preferred
- Experience in Excel, Word, & PowerPoint required
SKILLS:
- Proven ability to think strategically and develop long term plans to optimize a category required
- Understanding of procurement processes, category management, and supplier relationship management.
- Proven experience in negotiation and cross functional influencing skills.
