Sentara Martha Jefferson Infusion Center
The Sentara Martha Jefferson Infusion Center offers a pleasant, professional atmosphere where patients can receive intravenous infusions and therapeutic injections. Our oncology-certified nurses are trained to administer chemotherapy, biological therapies or supportive blood transfusions for cancer, as well as various infusions for non-cancer patients.
OCN certified nurses in both the Infusion Center and Medical oncology clinic.
Infusion center has 25 chairs
14,000 provider visits per year
17,000 infusion visits per year- both oncology and non-oncology

About the position:
Position shares the 24/7 responsibility to assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Supervises patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, provides high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience; assists manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinates the purchasing and payroll processes; serves as a technical/clinical resource to team members; and performs work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff. Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team. May coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team. Utilizes effective communication/ interpersonal skills and is able to adapt leadership style to support achieving department goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- 2 years nursing experience required.
- BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
- Previous Leadership experience- Unit Coordinator or similar.
- RN Licensure- Active.
- Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
- Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
- Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
