Tyto Athene is searching for a Global Command and Control System - Joint Lead to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.
The Global Command and Control Systems - Joint Lead serves as the technical authority responsible for managing the operations, integration and sustainment of the GCCS-J within a mission critical USSOUTHCOM environment. The senior level role supports joint force mission planning, situational awareness, and operational command and control by ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of GCCS-J systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and administration of GCCS-J infrastructure and software components
- Serve as the technical liaison between system users, developers, and security professionals to ensure GCCS-J supports joint operational needs
- Ensure seamless integration with associated systems and networks
- Provide troubleshooting support for COP synchronization, track data and system latency issues
- Oversee Compliance with DISA STIGs, IAVAs, and cybersecurity policies under DoD RMF
- Conduct routine backups, system monitoring, and performance tuning
- Develop technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Lead and mentor junior system administrator and support personnel
- Provide training and support administrators and support personnel
- Provide training and support to military and civilian operators on the effective use of GCCS-J
- Participate in exercises, real-world operations, and system testing/evaluation events
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of experience working with GCCS-J or similar Command and Control systems
- In depth understanding of GCCS architecture, components and DoD operational data systems
- Proficient with UNIX/Linux administration and shell scripting
- Experience with system integration, cross-domain solutions and data replication technologies
- Familiarity with joint planning tools and data correlation techniques
- Excellent communication and leadership skills in joint/mission partner environments
Desired:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience supporting Combatant Commands, Joint Operations Centers or Joint Environments
- Familiarity with joint/mission partner interoperability tools and mission systems
- Experience developing or maintaining system baselines for GCCS-J deployments
Clearance:
- TS/SCI clearance required
Certification:
- DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role
- CompTIA Security+ CE.
- GCCS or System Administrator Certification
- ITIL v4 Foundation or better
