Position Description
Redhorse Corporation is currently seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Arlington, VA. You will be supporting our Accounting Department in all accounting aspects of our US operations and report directly to the Corporate Controller of the company. In the role as a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to perform ‘standard‘ accounting work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures. Using prescribed methods, you will perform specific and limited segments of more experienced accountants‘ broader assignments. Assignments may include higher-level work for training/developmental purposes. It is expected that you will exercise good judgment and seek the guidance of supervisors and/or other team members when less common methods or procedures are necessary.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with various monthly and ad hoc financial analysis, preparation of monthly financial statements, bank compliance, interim and annual audit preparation
- Assisting in month-end close activities, including but not limited to, reviewing and analyzing income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Performing daily cash management activities, recording both online banking transactions and manual cash receipt deposits
- Responsible for reviewing and processing all expense reports. Verifying all reports are in compliance with company policy, GAAP, FAR
- Preparing monthly bank and account reconciliations
- Assisting in the timely completion of regulatory filings, as assigned (State Informational Tax Returns, Sales and Use Tax Returns, Unclaimed Property Filings, 1099-Misc Filings, W2-G Filings and other state and federal filings)
- Assisting in the preparation of interim and year-end audit working papers as assigned
- Assists in maintaining the fixed asset process, system, and records
- Provide back up for core accounting functions, including Payroll, AP, and AR as needed.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher in Accounting.
- 4+ years of work experience in Accounting for a government contracting firm or a professional services company.
- Experience with US GAAP accounting methods.
- Excellent computer skills on MS Office.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with accounting software and databases; experience with Deltek Costpoint 8, highly preferred.

The work environment for this position requires an individual to be able to:
- Work sitting or standing at a desk or conference table for extended periods of time (1-3 hours), with the ability to shift positions while working: sit, stand, pace, adjust positioning in any of those without issue
- Walk short distances in the office to collaborate with co-workers, attend meetings, greet visitors or retrieve documents from the printer
- Ability to carry up to 10 pounds
