Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Consumer Insights to lead our consumer insights function and drive strategic decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will design and implement innovative research strategies to uncover deep insights into consumer behavior, empowering the development of data-driven product, marketing, and business strategies. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations and collaborate effectively across teams.
What You'll Do:
Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive consumer insights strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Identify key research areas to enhance understanding of consumer preferences and needs.
Voice of Customer Program Management:
- Administer customer feedback programs via Qualtrics, capturing KPIs across key touchpoints in the customer journey.
- Present actionable insights and data through dashboards and monthly reports.
Research and Analysis:
- Oversee the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research, including ad hoc surveys, focus groups, and ethnographic studies.
- Analyze consumer data and market trends to generate insights and recommendations.
Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present insights reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and business implications.
- Use data visualization and storytelling to communicate insights clearly and persuasively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with product, marketing, sales, operations, and continuous improvement teams to inform key decisions.
- Collaborate with external research vendors to enhance research capabilities.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of consumer insights professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Provide technical coaching and manage team performance to ensure successful execution of research projects.
Trend Monitoring:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in consumer research.
- Implement cutting-edge methodologies and tools to advance research capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Statistics, Marketing, Psychology, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or related fields.
- Industry experience in Professional Education is a plus.
- Proficiency in Qualtrics and strong analytical skills in data interpretation and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with analytics and research tools (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, Excel, Python).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data persuasively.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of driving insights to influence business decisions.
