About the role

ROLE TITLE: Director, Regional Operations

POSITION REPORTS TO: Tony Ashton - Teach For America Idaho, Executive Director

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Sunday, Apr 12, 2026

LOCATION: Idaho (Flexible within state)

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role is designed for someone who thrives on building systems, managing complex projects, and ensuring that the operational infrastructure behind a mission-driven team runs smoothly and effectively. You are someone who is energized by turning logistical complexity into streamlined processes—and who finds purpose in enabling others to do their best work in service of Idaho’s students.

In this role, you will serve as the operational backbone of Teach For America (TFA) Idaho, managing data systems for all corps member information, leading end-to-end project management for Corps Member Summer Training, planning and executing regional events, and providing cross-functional support across program, alumni, and fundraising workstreams. You’ll analyze data to identify trends and risks—such as retention challenges or engagement gaps—and recommend targeted support strategies. You’ll also manage relationships with school partners, summer staff, and internal teams to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and deadlines are met.

Through your work in regional operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring TFA Idaho has the systems, processes, and coordination necessary to deliver on its mission. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, synthesize data into actionable insights, and execute on logistics will support the team’s impact on students and communities across Idaho.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • [30%] Summer Training Project Management: Serve as project manager for Corps Member Summer Training: identify and secure school partners, establish MOUs, design the hiring process for summer staff, set project milestones, and manage all stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.

  • [30%] Event Planning and Logistics: Lead end-to-end planning and logistics for internal team events and external-facing regional events.

  • [20%] Data Systems Management: Manage data systems for all corps member information, including state licensing, engagement, student achievement outcomes, and retention. Analyze data to identify trends and risks (e.g., retention risks) and recommend targeted support for struggling teachers.

  • [20%] Cross-Functional Support: Support projects across multiple workstreams: program, talent, partnerships, and fundraising to enable the successful running of our region.

A WEEK IN THE LIFE

No two weeks will look the same in this adaptive role -but below are examples of how the Director might spend their time:

  • Updating and analyzing corps member data dashboards to flag retention risks and prepare a brief for the program team with recommended interventions.

  • Leading a planning call with a school partner to finalize logistics for Corps Member Summer Training, including classroom placements and MOU details.

  • Coordinating with summer staff candidates through the hiring process, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and tracking milestones.

  • Planning logistics for an upcoming regional event, including venue coordination, catering, attendee communications, and day-of run-of-show details.

  • Meeting with program, alumni, and fundraising leads to identify cross-functional needs and aligning on shared project timelines.

  • Troubleshooting a data systems issue related to state licensing records and coordinating with the national team for resolution.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum 4 years of previous work experience.

  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from planning through execution, keeping teams aligned on milestones and deadlines.

  • Comfort working with data systems and the ability to translate data into actionable insights that improve programmatic outcomes.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously across diverse workstreams.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with school partners, summer staff, internal teams, and external collaborators.

  • Flexibility to shift between operational, programmatic, and strategic tasks in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  • Experience in event planning and logistics preferred.

  • Previous experience in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations prefer
