Duties and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing a high level of support by maintaining office operations in the areas of secretarial duties, maintaining records, performing administrative duties and providing assistance to the District Commander. This position is responsible for compiling and disseminating routine and special reports and initiating special projects and activities. This position is also responsible for processing a variety of correspondence requiring special knowledge relating to FHP operations, providing support services to the Troop Command Staff, attending trainings, reviewing and maintaining current literature, and understanding policies and procedures affecting the Florida Highway Patrol Office of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of general office procedures and basic filing practices.
- Skill in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to type letters, memoranda and other standard business forms in correct format using correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Skill in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
