About the Department

The Department of Health is the largest agency in the Tasmanian State Government and is the largest employer in the state of Tasmania. We provide essential services including inpatient, outpatient, community health, child community health and residential aged care. We provide healthcare across acute care, sub-acute care, emergency care, non- admitted care, allied health, primary healthcare, palliative care, dementia services, specialised case management services, oral health, cancer screening, mental health, alcohol and drug services and corporate functions. Our hospitals include Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General, Northwest Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital. Ambulance Tasmania is also part of the Department of Health. 

About the team

Recruitment Services is implementing a new statewide operating model and structure designed to strengthen recruitment capability, improve consistency, and support a more modern end‑to‑end service across the Department of Health. We’re building a stronger, more specialised team to support consistent end‑to‑end recruitment across the Department, and we’re recruiting to multiple roles as part of this implementation.

About the Role

  • Stakeholder engagement and client service focus, with highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build, maintain, and nurture effective relationships with hiring managers, internal and external stakeholders, and candidates to deliver a positive client and candidate experience.
  • Proven capacity to contribute to the development and implementation of targeted recruitment initiatives, campaigns, and talent pools, including writing engaging advertising and promotional content and supporting the rollout of a contemporary recruitment service model focused on continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely end-to-end recruitment support and practical, proactive advice to hiring managers on recruitment processes, policies, workforce establishment, position reviews, job design, and relevant legislation using recruitment management systems.
  • Experience using recruitment applicant tracking systems and or customer management systems.
  • Experience using sourcing tools (e.g. LinkedIn, Seek Talent Search, or others to identify, attract, and build pools of suitably skilled candidates.

Details of appointment

Multiple permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight.
Multiple fixed term full-time day worker positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$85,196 - $97,915 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with the Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award (HAHSA) and the Public Sector Union Wages Agreement (PSUWA) 2025
