Are you tired of working in the hospital and looking for something different? Alana Healthcare offers community-based education programs with flexible scheduling. We are currently hiring Full Time Respiratory Therapists to educate patients on chronic care management within their homes and have immediate opportunities in San Diego, Mission Valley and the Kearny Mesa, CA area.

1:1 Care – As a Respiratory Therapist, you build personal relationships with your patients, while consulting with physicians and clinical staff to develop and implement individual patient care plans.

The role of the Respiratory Therapist is to work with patients and their families to provide in-home and telephonic education. Our Patient Educators promote knowledge and understanding of the patient’s disease process, interventions, therapies, and self-help techniques.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager.

• Educate patients via in-home or telephonic consultation.
• Consult with patient’s physician regarding patient’s health and wellbeing when additional therapies or interventions may be needed.
• Monitors patient’s physiological responses to therapy and testing procedures through patient vital signs and physiological signs and symptoms.
• Ability to educate patients, caregivers and other healthcare professionals (for in services or as needed).
• Participates, on an ongoing basis, in traditional as well as virtual learning and educational programs.

Requirements

The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

RT

• Minimum of an Associate degree from an approved college or university for Respiratory Therapy and active CRT credential. (Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred.)
• Must be licensed in the state of California as a Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Care Practitioner.
