Job Description Summary

The Director of the Gene Delivery and Cellular Engineering Lab (GDCE) will support the Director of CCI to oversee a laboratory division dedicated to exploring and integrating advanced gene delivery systems into T cells, including lipid nanoparticle and other non-viral transduction technologies, while also leading efforts to implement novel cell engineering technologies and immunotherapeutic approaches to enhance antitumor efficacy, with a strong focus on clinical translation. The primary objective is to ensure a highly integrated and competitive research environment that fosters the successful development of these advanced techniques to expedite the transition from laboratory discovery to clinical application.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities entail the management of a multidisciplinary team, providing guidance and support to postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and supervising research staff. This involves overseeing research progress and goals, as well as contributing to strategic planning initiatives led by the Director of CCI. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for initiating and overseeing research studies and conducting thorough data analysis. They will ensure the timely planning and execution of projects, including the preparation, review, and approval of reports, presentations, scientific papers, and grant applications. The Director will present data at local, national, and international meetings, monitor progress and timelines related to projects, and provide updates to the Director of CCI. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. PhD strongly preferred
  • Extensive background in cellul
