The Sr. Associate VP, Entity Operations oversees and administers the primary planning and operational management of all hospitals and clinics for the University of Miami Health System (UHealth). This position ensures the development and implementation of strategies, operating systems, procedures, controls, and compliance stewardship that are consistent with our mission, vision, principles, and goals for teaching, research, and clinical care. The incumbent focuses on the operational excellence of UHealth clinical delivery services in all aspects of planning and operations for our health system and supports an environment of transparency, shared and contextualized decision-making, and trust.

Core Job Functions:
1. Establishes a culture of collaboration and integration that enhances the provision of excellent patient care and patient satisfaction, provides a safe, supportive, and welcoming employee and patient care environment, and supports innovation and creativity.
2. Oversees operational efficiencies to provide the highest quality of safe and appropriate patient care.
3. Creates an environment of continuous improvement that fosters physician and staff collaboration, enhances revenues, controls costs, and improves overall performance.
4. Improves throughput through effective processes that focus on improving quality of care with standards of excellence that enable a consistent patient experience.
5. Provides leadership and guidance in the development of performance metrics and the measurement reporting process.
6. Forges new relationships with hospitals and physicians outside UHealth to expand reach and geography, including telehealth.
7. Oversees the strategic expansion of the medical group and relationships with community MDs.
8. Increases patient satisfaction, improves efficiency of operations, and positively impacts the bottom line and overall patient experience across the System.
9. Maintains a single point of entry, provides dedicated clinical practice support, and enables measurement analysis.
10. Collaborates with UHealth CFO, hospital administrators, and practices to plan for all financial functions, including budgeting, short-term and long-term forecasting, business plan development, Annual Operating Agreement (AOA) negotiations with the Jackson Memorial Health System, managed care contracting, and other financial operations.
11. Achieves and maintains strong financial health and growth for reinvestment in clinical, research, and education enterprises.
12. Oversees and manages short and long-term profitability and growth of the health system.
13. Collaborates with the Chief Compliance Officer to develop policies and procedures for critical activities of UHealth related to safety, compliance, HIPAA and billing, and operating performance standards.
14. Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.

Education:
Master's degree in relevant field required

Experience:
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience required
