Grand Fitness a premier Planet Fitness Franchise is looking for a Field HR Manager to join their dynamic team. The Field HR Manager position is accountable for providing critical human resources support targeting internal development and championing the full employee life cycle. (attraction, hiring, development and retention). This role will report to the VP, People with a matrixed/dotted line reporting relationship to the Director Operations. Employees in this role must be comfortable with dual reporting relationships, managing multiple priorities and executing in a manner that builds trust within our teams. Confidentiality, discretion, follow through and strong judgment are critical to building a reputation of accountability in market.
Position Responsibilities
- Apply general knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources administration and knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of human resources management.
- Serve as the HR business partner to the Director Operations, championing change, operational excellence and business goals. Serve as a trusted advisor on all people related efforts.
- Maintain strong market presence, with club visits at minimum 3 days per week.
- Develop operational and people focused plans and programs, leveraging established relationships to proactively identify and solve performance gaps.
- Broker cross functional relationships and expertise, as needed to support business initiatives.
- Must have the ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form and can effectively deliver local and organizational level training. Facilitate meetings in partnership with the Director Operations and their market based leadership teams. facilitate meetings %events, and deliver oral presentations to audiences of all varieties, including size, organizational level, and experience.
- Coach leaders on HR processes and practices (performance management, discipline, staffing) in a way that builds trust and minimizes risk to the organization.
- Starting at $80,000 per year, plus 10% annual bonus opportunity.

Engagement
- Promote a culture of engagement and recognition in designated markets
- Drive consistent implementation of engagement initiatives
- Ensure effective communication processes within the market
Staffing
- Lead local staffing in collaboration with the market leadership team, with a focus on talent pipeline to GM and ROM roles.
- Participate in market People Process and talent review forums,
- Train leaders in best practices for interviewing, hiring and selection
Learning and Development
- Partner with Director Leadership Development on training needs for market
- Deliver on the ground training on key HR and leadership topics
- Support training audits, certification requirements and reporting needs
Performance Management
- Partner in Leadership review process with Director of Operations
- Individual Development plans - follow up on individual development initiatives
- One on one coaching for performance along with the Director of Operations
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Track and respond to all Employee Relations concerns for the Market
- Partner with Area Directors to manage effective investigation process
- Ensure compliance with employment law
- Leave of absence and workers compensation management
- Liaison between support centers and the field on organizational compliance and risk related matters
- Maintain compliance reporting for market, in partnership with HR Ops Director
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of multi-location generalist experience in human resources. Multi-state experience is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business-related field, Psychology, or Education, preferred
- Internal applicants 3-5 years operations experience coupled with Operations/business education may substitute human resources experience.
- Excellent writing and communications skills, ability to lead trainings and present topics to all audiences
- Bilingual preferred
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Be able to travel up to 60-70% locally, with some overnights required
- A solid understanding of Human Resources principles, with experience handling complex and sensitive matters, exercising discretion and sound judgment
- Mastery level of behavioral interviewing and adherence to federal/state labor laws associat
