We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join us building infrastructure to help deliver seamless, high-quality, and reliable AI powered features to empower Copilot Studio users to create mission-critical AI workloads. You'll work alongside talented teammates from product design and applied science to deliver features that empower users and scale across millions of tenants in the Microsoft ecosystem. In the process, you'll also learn AI, modern tools, technologies, and industry practices as part of a world-class engineering environment that values mentorship and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop new functionalities and architectural patterns to integrate Generative AI into various applications.
• Deliver highly available, highly reliable services.
• Develop engagement opportunities for technology, customers and distributed systems.
• Collaborate with Applied Science & AI experts to design, build, and deliver cutting-edge generative AI features and transform what it means to build AI-first SaaS.
• Work across various technologies and platforms, embrace and apply modern engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational excellence to ensure high quality, maintainability, and resilience in production.
• Apply a variety of tools and technologies to deliver diverse customer experiences.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ year experience hands on experience working with Generative AI.

Other Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Solid background in developing scalable applications and services on Azure (or other major cloud platforms) with a focus on reliability, resilience, security, and performance.
• Hands-on experience developing modern applications using React and TypeScript.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, deliver in an agile environment, be willing to learn and adopt new
