Trainer- Manufacturing Operations

 

Job Purpose and Function

The Trainer should have a passion for ensuring knowledge transfer to diverse groups of employees through engaging, motivating, and effective learning materials and presentations. The Trainer plays an integral part in driving manufacturing efficiency and improved production. This role is responsible for the implementation and assessment of manufacturing operations, learning and development for all team members within the plant.

This high-profile, forward-facing position requires a passion for collaborating with people, teaching, and coaching at all levels of our business. Outside of normal projects, the Trainer will meet for meetings, training presentations, and facilitation at the Towanda PA site. 

Key Accountabilities 

• Support department learning and program initiatives.
• Assists with the development of training schedules
• Actively builds collaborative relationships within all levels of the organization in the identification and implementation of learning solutions.
• Plans and co-facilitates classroom training sessions and learning focusing on a wide variety of topics including equipment operation, safety, and lean manufacturing.
• Provide guidance, expertise, and consulting to functional managers and in the assessment of training needs.
• Demonstrates initiative, teamwork, commitment, and follow-through with all training initiatives.
• Works independently and if issues or problems are identified, collaborates with hourly team leads, group managers and upper management to resolve.

• Provides feedback to trainees to ensure all skills / knowledge have been retained.
• Solicits feedback from trainees to ensure the appropriateness of course content and for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Maintains accurate training documentation and submission for record keeping.
• Seeks feedback from department management and trainees to assess training needs and to identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Create job aids, study guides, training manuals and brand standard documentation to support new processes and update current content.   
• Delivers training on equipment operation and maintenance.   
• Facilitate hands-on, classroom, and online courses as required. 
• Recommends ways to streamline processes to ensure efficiencies that enhance learner experience.
