We are looking for a technical lead to own design and development of embedded software for a critical satellite subsystem.  You’ll work collaboratively across our embedded systems group and work closely with subsystem leads.  As a technical lead for a mission critical subsystem, you’ll make a large business impact across multiple critical programs from design to execution.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead software design and architecture for critical satellite subsystem, such as power, guidance & navigation, and payload, to be used across our product line and for critical government and commercial programs.
  • Own execution of work for your subsystem – status/standup, sprint planning, tasking, etc.
  • Design, development, and test next-generation flight software and related test scripts
  • Work directly with required component owners to meet requirements
  • Ensure that adequate test, inspection, and analysis is performed to verify compliance with requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers from multiple disciplines (electrical, systems, mechanical, etc.) to deliver mission-critical products on-time and on-budget.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Over 8 years’ experience delivering and maintaining commercial software in a production environment
  • Experience working on embedded software for satellites and related components, such as power, guidance & navigation, and payload
  • Expertise in engineering clean and maintainable C/C++ and Python code
  • Expertise in Embedded Linux, ideally including related build systems (Buildroot, Yocto, etc.) and writing drivers
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products on-time and on-budget.
  • Proven ability to lead & mentor teams of earlier career software or test engineers
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with Xilinx; Ultrascale+, ZCU102, KV/KR-260 or FPGA’s
  • Linux Expertise specifically using Buildroot build system for custom RFS’s, and board bring-up for Linux.
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces (GPIO, I2C, SPI, CAN, USART, PHY, SpaceWire, Cameralink, RS-422), or high
