Job Purpose
The Global eCommerce Capabilities Organization’s (GECO) mission is to develop industry-leading eCommerce capabilities to unlock the future of market level consumer engagement and inspire consumers throughout their path-to-purchase. The Tools and Capabilities team’s main goal is to enable our eCommerce markets to grow by supplying industry leading methodologies, tools, tech, and other capabilities. The team accomplishes this by understanding the capabilities needs of the markets, benchmarking versus best-in-class competitors, developing capabilities, and deploying them in our local eCommerce markets.
This Associate Director of Global eCommerce Tools and Capabilities will play a critical role in developing a comprehensive global ecommerce strategy and supporting the Market Activation team in deploying in market. This person will be a thought leader in driving global best practices based on market maturity and helping advance eCommerce tools throughout the organization. This role is perfect for a strategic and agile leader who understands the nuances of eCommerce across markets and can lead complex, long-term, and cross-functional initiatives.
This role will partner closely with the Market Activation Team, market specific eCommerce leads, analytics partners, external vendors, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Your impact will be measured by both short term impact from capabilities and tools deployed into market and by the long-term strategic pipeline of capabilities being developed to help Kraft Heinz win in eCommerce globally. Key metrics include Net Sales, Market Share, Capability Maturity advancement, and project based KPIs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Develop the eCommerce capabilities across all functional areas (Content, Search, Data, Media, etc.) ensuring short- and long-term impact is delivered to our eCommerce markets
- Use your deep knowledge of eCommerce to influence global eCommerce strategies, including investment mix, big-bets, and KPI prioritization
- Partner with Market Activation team to deploy capabilities in market
- Identify future of eCommerce industry by partnering with external vendors and understanding industry trends to support capabilities pipeline and strategic recommendations for our markets
- Use knowledge of eCommerce functions to build repeatable & scalable models to evaluate market maturity in a wide range of capability areas including content, media, search, data, partnerships, and more
- Connect capability roadmap to financial opportunity to prioritize implementation plan by capability and market
- Help scale tools and technologies relating to eCommerce across different zones and markets by partnering with tech teams
- Lead all Capabilities and Tools team initiatives, offering support and leadership for team members leading the individual projects
- Build the brand of Kraft-Heinz eCommerce function externally via participation in conferences, engaging with industry leaders, etc…
- Build knowledge on how different sub-channels of eCom (Pure Players / Click & Collect / Q-com / etc…) function and the future state of these channels in other markets
Expected Experience & Required Skills
- 8+ years experience driving eCommerce business in an operator role or in a strategic role
- A thorough understanding of the dynamics of eCommerce, the challenges, the main levers that can help drive eCommerce growth
- A global market exposure is not a must but desirable
- Advanced experience with eCommerce specific functions, such as digital shelf, shopper insights, marketing analytics, sales, shopper marketing, or a related field. Note: Consumer Packaged Good experience is a plus.
- Should be very proficient with data with an ability to convey a story to leadership using data
- Team management skills is desirable
- Leadership skills to communicate clearly with partners of various levels on team asks, setting goals, and sharing results. Note: Executive leadership communication experience is a must.
- Ability to work with multiple third-party vendors and agencies to work toward a common goal.
- Ability to determine organizational impact of findings and recommend next steps.
- Strong communication, project management, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in slightly ambiguous environment and pivot focus when needed.
Work Environment & Schedule
This position is considered a Normal office environment with limited travel or visits to external locations; offices are open workspaces Additionally, this role requires work a salaried, exempt schedule to best execute against customer and internal expectations.
