Job Description:
Minimum hiring rate of position: $55,744 annually
Job Duties:
- Assists the Supervising Statute Technician with monitoring and coordinating workflow through the office's bill drafting system.
- Assists the Supervising Statute Technician with supervising, training, and assigning work to the statute technicians.
- Assists in preparing and proofreading the supplements to the statutes and the reissued volumes of the statutes for publication.
- Prepares and proofreads legislative bills, amendments, and resolutions.
- Responds to requests and inquiries.
- Performs responsibilities of the Supervising Statute Technician as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree or five years of experience as a statute technician or in a similar position.
- Experience with data processing systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the structure and operation of state government, the Legislature, and the legislative process.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on grammar, spelling, and proofreading.
- Ability to work independently and organize and manage work.
- Ability to function well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including working nights and weekends.
