Do you have an interest in supervising a team who works on some of the most complex criminal cases in Maricopa County? Do you want to foster and support a team environment focused on the management of capital cases from initial discovery through trial proceedings?
As a Paralegal Supervisor for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO), you will have the opportunity to put your skills to work and provide professional legal support to some of the most significant cases in our office. You will use your expertise to supervise and support a team of hardworking paralegals as they competently manage serious, complex cases in a competent way. You will provide daily supervision and training of all paralegals in our department. This will involve an attention to detail and adherence to specific standards for capital casework. More specifically, you will actively monitor, direct, and delegate caseloads to ensure guidelines for case management in capital litigation are strictly followed. You will also be responsible for managing additional responsibilities in the bureau to include billing and other office-wide administration relevant to Capital Litigation. We Require
Five years of experience as a paralegal supporting attorneys
Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, OR an Associate's degree in any field, AND a certificate of completion from a Paralegal Studies program
A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Valid AZ driver's license upon hire
NOTE: The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement.
