Job Summary
The Senior Engineering Technician is an R&D position responsible for generating and documenting automotive fluid performance data and physical components supporting development, claim substantiation, and OE approvals for Prestone/PFX. This includes running established test procedures on proprietary automotive test equipment, assisting in the test setup and maintenance of internal fleet test vehicles, as well as assisting in the design and fabrication of new test equipment. This position will work collaboratively with R&D groups to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
The Senior Engineering Technician is a hands-on position that will have three primary functions:
• Run and maintain internal proprietary test equipment
• Assist in the test setup and maintain internal and external fleet test vehicles
• Assist in the development of new tests and procedures
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Contribute to unique solutions to challenges that combine mechanical/electrical design, solid understanding of automotive systems, and excellent communication skills to meet business needs. This will include extensive written documentation, assisting with theoretical design, as well as mechanical/electrical fabrication on both proprietary test equipment as well as automotive fleets.
• Assist in the development and responsible for the documentation of in-depth technical procedures and experiments.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and utilize scientific methods to develop solutions and resolve issues.
• Accurately perform lab testing, document, and summarize data.
• Requires travel up to 10%, a driver’s license is required
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications / Experience

• 7 years of experience in automotive/heavy duty or scientific field
• Strong mechanical and electrical vehicle knowledge/experience for both ICE and EV vehicles
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams
• Knowledge/Experience with manual machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine…etc.)
• Knowledge of Mechanical/Laboratory Safety Practices
• Analytical thinker and problem solver
