AES Indiana Security Manager Job Description
Position Overview: The AES Indiana Security Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the US Utilities Security Organization by ensuring appropriate access and safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of employees and business information. This position is responsible for compliance with organization policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The AES Indiana Security Manager will lead efforts to identify and implement security measures, develop plans and procedures to prevent loss or damage, and manage security teams. Additionally, the role involves researching and deploying advanced technology, performing risk assessments, and maintaining physical security standards. The Security Manager will also oversee the security budget, investigate incidents, coordinate with law enforcement agencies, and participate in disaster recovery planning. Effective communication with internal and external customers is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard property, materials, and facilities from unauthorized access, trespassing, theft, vandalism, internal damage, sabotage, work stoppages, embezzlement, fraud, civil disturbances, and other illegal or dishonest activities.
- Develop and propose strategies, procedures, and initiatives to protect property and individuals, ensure continuity of services and business operations, and address the Company's various security requirements.
- Manage the AES Indiana Security Guard and Road Patrol teams, handle administrative tasks, and track performance to improve efficiency and professional growth.
- Explore and implement advanced technologies and platforms to enhance security measures and improve overall efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and design security measures based on industry best practices.
- Establish and enforce physical security standards to ensure the safety and protection of all assets.
- Manage the security budget for Capital projects and O&M expenses, forecast costs, monitor spending, and collaborate with departments to identify needs and implement cost-saving measures.
- Investigate thefts, embezzlement, fraud, sabotage, and other unlawful acts that cause loss or damage to Company, contractors', or employees' property.
- Maintain communication and coordinate security activities with law enforcement agencies at all levels, including federal, state, county, and local.
- Create, update, and share security procedures and manuals.
- Collaborate with vendors, application developers, database administrators, corporate IT, and other technology groups to address and resolve any issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, development, exercises, and actual events.
- Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers and promptly respond to requests for information.
- Oversee badge and TWIC processing administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
